things, they allow titles to be entered, in order to make it easier
to find disks and tracks, but this is a rather time-consuming task.
Such recorders do not have an alphanumeric keypad, so titles
must be entered by using the + and – buttons to step through
a character set and selecting the desired characters using the
Enter button. This can be done using the actual recorder, or by
using the buttons on the remote control unit connected to the
MD recorder. Every since the beginning, Asian manufacturers
have used a simple two-wire system for such remote controls.
Each button on the remote control causes a particular resistance
to be connected to this ‘bus’, and the recorder recognis
